Veteran referee Scott Foster drew the ire of NBA fans during the Suns’ win over the Warriors

Veteran referee Scott Foster drew the ire of NBA fans during the Phoenix Suns’ 123-115 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. Foster’s questionable calls throughout the game, particularly Chris Paul’s ejection and Kevin Durant’s technical foul, sparked widespread criticism on social media.

Foster’s officiating calls were closely scrutinized from the start after he ejected Warriors point guard Chris Paul late in the first half for an altercation. The incident caused an immediate outcry from fans who questioned the severity of the call.

In the fourth quarter, Foster blew a technical foul on Durant for bouncing the ball off one of the posts. Durant threw the ball so lightly that it bounced right back to him. Many fans felt the call should not have been made, especially considering the score (118-114) and the time of the game (19.0 seconds left).

Foster’s actions drew heavy fire from fans on social media, with many accusing him of trying to steal the players’ thunder. Some fans even compared Foster’s officiating behavior to Michael Jordan’s dominance on the court, demonstrating his determination to make his presence known in the game.

Despite the controversial call, Kevin Durant led the Suns to victory with a game-high 32 points on 50 percent shooting, eight rebounds, two assists, two caps and three 3-pointers. Devin Booker had a near triple-double with 25 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and two 3-pointers.

The win marks the fifth straight for the Suns (9-6), who are currently fifth in the Western Conference. On the other hand, the Warriors (7-9) are struggling as they have lost seven of their last eight games.

The Suns will face the Memphis Grizzlies (3-11) on the road this Friday, while the Warriors will host the San Antonio Spurs (3-12) on Friday. The Spurs are currently on a 10-game losing streak and have the worst record in the Western Conference.
