Former NBA player Odom lucky to be unhurt in car accident

Former NBA player Lamar Odom was involved in a car accident around 3:00 a.m. local time Monday morning, according to American media outlet TMZ.

Odom was driving home from a friend’s house when he dropped his cell phone in his Mercedes, he looked down to pick up the phone, and as a result, the car lost control and crashed into a parked car, which then led to the car crashing into another car parked in front of it.

Odom himself is unharmed, and he has already taken to social media to report that he is safe: “Thank you to all who have contacted me and are concerned about me! Grateful for this love!”

Odom’s car accident has reignited concerns about his safety. He was involved in a serious car accident in 2015 when he was rushed to the hospital after being unconscious from drugs and alcohol.
